#181 How to travel for an investigation and how law enforcement gets your data

Law enforcement is a term used to describe the government’s power to arrest, investigate, and prosecute people suspected of committing crimes. Law enforcement agencies are responsible for enforcing the law by investigating crime. They also maintain order and provide protection for people and property.

The data that law enforcement gets from you can be obtained in various ways:

- With a search warrant or subpoena, law enforcement can get your personal information from third parties like your phone company or bank.

- With a court order, they can get your data from your internet service provider (ISP).

- They can also get your data with an administrative subpoena by claiming that they need it for an investigation.

- Finally, they may be able to get some of your data if you’ve been on social media or other public forums where you have posted personal information publicly available to anyone who looks at it.
